Faculty Mentoring

Since a professional advisor in the Office of Advising and Student Support works with students to understand program requirements and build a graduation plan, it gives Health Care Management (HCM) faculty additional time for meaningful conversations with students about professional standards and responsibilities, as well as pathways to both graduate schools and careers.

Of course, mentoring relationships evolve organically for many of our students and faculty both inside and outside the classroom, but the HCM program is also intentional about carving out time for these important topics in its required professional development course. Students are also matched with an individual faculty mentor when they declare their major.
